Introduction

Dear Reader,

It is my honour to welcome you on behalf of the Editorial Board at the online platform of Építőanyag – Journal of Silicate Based and Composite Materials, which is the international journal of the Hungarian Scientific Society of the Silicate Industry (SZTE). SZTE is the oldest Hungarian research community for silicate materials science and technology, providing scientists, engineers and manufacturers with original research for already 70 years. First issue of the journal was published in 1949 in Hungarian and became soon the most important and mostly referred Hungarian journal in the field of construction and building materials. Today, Építőanyag – Journal of Silicate Based and Composite Materials publishes peer reviewed original articles mostly in English to provide an international forum on both fundamental and applied science as well as on technology connected to ceramics and composites within and beyond construction and building materials.

Details of topics of interest of the journal can be found in the Aims and Scope section.

Authors are welcome to submit their manuscript from variable fields including academic researchers in materials science, practicing engineers and designers as well as manufacturers and contractors.

Details for paper submission can be found in the Paper Submission section.

We hope that – together with the contribution of our respected authors – our aim to promote the dissemination of knowledge on silicate based ceramics and composites at an international level and to further strengthen the link between participants in the silicate industry can be achieved.

Yours faithfully,

Dr. Zoltán GYURKÓ
former Editor-in-Chief
